Black-crowned Night Heron: "Forming"
Emptiness becoming form, and form becoming known: who are you?
Hidden amongst the tangle, waiting for a new day to begin.
Quietly thoughts takes shape, the senses searching for something to know.
Emptiness becoming form, and form becoming known: who are you?
I took these photos May 11, 2025. I regularly check this spot on my hikes for birds and wildlife and to enjoy the Ottawa River.
Can you find the Black-crowned Night Heron in the photo below?
At first, I had not seen this heron. I was looking at the river and a Canada Goose that had swum past me. As I looked around I noticed a large form in that tangle of trees over the water.
I watched this heron for a few minutes while they remained perched above the water. I wished them a fine day and continued my hike.
English - Korean:
Black-crowned Night Heron = 해오라기 / haeoragi (*Roughly translates as Sun Heron. In this case, 해/hae can mean Sun or the colour white.)
What beautiful shots ! I love how you always wish the wildlife well before departing. Thank you for sharing this.
"had swum" No one ever says that right. You have so many talents :-) Thank you for these lovely shots.
