Cooper's Hawk: "Grounded"

I took these photos on October 14, 2024. I watched this adult Cooper’s Hawk fly from a nearby tree and dive at an Eastern Grey Squirrel. The squirrel got away.
The hawk stood for 10-15 seconds on the ground looking around. The hawk then flew back past me and dove at another squirrel. The second squirrel got away too.
This time the hawk stayed on the ground longer. I had enough time to sit on the grass and take these images at the hawk’s level.
The Cooper’s Hawk continued looking around. I felt like I was seeing from their point of view - but with nowhere near the eyesight ability.
After a minute or two, the hawk flew up into a nearby tree.
I wonder if this adult Cooper’s Hawk is one of the pair I have met many times this year. I wish them well and hope to see them again.

It’s really neat to see the hawk standing and looking. I’m imagining how you must blend energetically with the landscape to be able to capture such photos.
