Watching the world continue along a course to the unknown.
Returning once again to those places of new beginnings.
Who will tell your stories of yesterdays and tomorrow?
I took these photos Sunday January 12, 2025. This was my first Cooper’s Hawk of 2025. A few moments before the hawk had landed in this pine tree, they had been chasing a Pileated Woodpecker.
I think this hawk is the same I had encountered many times in 2024. This tree is about 30 yards from a nesting site I posted about in April 2024. (Link to post below)
I was glad to see my first Cooper’s Hawk of 2025. I am sure I will be seeing more of the local Cooper’s Hawks this year.
English - Korean:
Cooper’s Hawk = 쿠퍼스 호크 / kupeoseu hokeu
Cooper’s Hawk = 쿠퍼스 매 / kupeoseu mae
Hawk = 호크 hokeu (transliterated directly from English to Korean)
Hawk = 매 / mae (Korean word for ‘hawk’)
**The transliterated word for hawk to Korean is 호크 / hokeu. The actual word hawk in Korean is 매 / mae.**
Those in the past are already gone
Those in the future have not yet arrived
Those in the present tarry not even for a moment.
Who then is it that sees the hawk?
When the question arises, so too the answer.
Happy 2025 Cooper's Hawk! Thank you for being Neil's friend!
