A new year, a new day, illuminating the world below.
For some, a time for beginnings, for others nothing changes.
Each day is a new beginning, each moment is a new you.
I took this photo on January 1, 2014. This photo is from the top of my old apartment building in Bundang-gu, Seognam City, South Korea. Bundang district is a suburb about half an hour south of Seoul.
I used to watch the sunrise nearly every New Year while living in Korea. The 2014 New Year sunrise was a special one for a few reasons. This would be the final year my wife and I would be living in Korea. Also, this sunrise would mark the ending of my 11th year living in Korea. I lived in Korea from January 23, 2003 until March 20, 2014.
In Korea, I would often be greeted and greet others with a happy new year for both the solar and lunar calendar. Seeing as this is the solar calendar new year, I wish everyone a Happy New Year / 새해 복 많이 받으세요 (saehaebogmanh-ibad-euseyo.)
Happy New Year! Neil 🎉🎉❣️
