Very nice poem combined with equally nice photos of Mr. Baltimore Oriole at his ablutions! What a dapper and jaunty fellow- He'd look good in a beret!

Thanks Michael and that's a great point about ablutions! A beret would also be most fitting. :)

Great shots, Neil! Such lovely colors, it’s always fascinating to watch a bird wash off. Thank you for describing this encounter for us.

Very enjoyable. I haven't seen orioles yet this season in eastern PA... i am wondering how to draw them in.

Thanks Peter. I have seen some people place orange slices out on branches for the Orioles.

Grape jelly, I buy the brand with no added sugar. We have a feeder hanging on our deck, and have been blessed to have them visit while we are sitting out there.

Thanks Patris! I was fortunate to see this oriole so close. Usually I only see them far up in the treetops.

Pure envy here. Never have seen one (though hope to).

Am transfixed by the vibrancy of colors on these fey creatures. (So far have seen them dressed in vivid red, blue, or yellow). Just stunning
