Cooper's Hawk: "Seeking Something"
What is it the seeker seeks and believes but simply themself?
A tower of wood with fading foliage provides new sights.
For the seeker above, seeing drives belief and confidence.
What is it the seeker seeks and believes but simply themself?
I took these photos on September 29, 2024. Earlier in the morning, I had seen a few American Crows chase a Cooper’s Hawk. Later, one of the crows was flying past me when this Cooper’s Hawk flew at the crow. The crow evaded and the Cooper’s Hawk landed in this maple tree.
I think this is the same juvenile Cooper’s Hawk I had seen in August. (Link below.)
This is the same area as my earlier encounter. There are a few large open areas with plenty of squirrels now preparing for Winter.
After a few minutes, the hawk flew from the tree and dove at an Eastern Grey Squirrel about 100 yards away. The squirrel was lucky and evaded the hawk.
I am of two minds on this encounter. Part of me hopes this juvenile hawk thrives and lives on in the park. Cooper’s Hawks are such a treat to see. I have really come to appreciated and admire them.
Another part of me hopes that the squirrels and prey live well. I need to think beyond both extremes. Perhaps instead, I should wish Nature well.
English - Korean:
Cooper’s Hawk = 쿠퍼스 호크 / kupeoseu hokeu
Cooper’s Hawk = 쿠퍼스 매 / kupeoseu mae
Hawk = 호크 hokeu (transliterated directly from English to Korean)
Hawk = 매 / mae (Korean word for ‘hawk’)
**The transliterated word for hawk to Korean is 호크 / hokeu. The actual word hawk in Korean is 매 / mae.**
thx 🌹🌻🌸💐💚💜❤️🌼😍🥰
A good series of photos of the hawk. As for the internal conflict, this would be one of the times when I must heed my own advice to let Nature be.
