I hope to see one in the wild someday. We have them here year round but I have yet to see one. We considered installing an owl nesting box but I don’t want to lose our song bird visitors by attracting more predator birds to the yard.
there is a nest of them at the end of Murtland Ave/street in point breeze.. Off of Reynolds. there every year. on right side of street.. Can't recall if it is a dead end street but you will find it.. ENJOY
Thanks Heidi! I was most surprised to see this owl after so long. I thought they may have left the area. I'm glad this owl is here and hope I see them again!
"What can be done but to let the present moment seek and find you.". Truer words were never spoken. Much appreciated.
Thank you Michael and much appreciated.

That's exactly what I was thinking! I love the concept of the present searching for my presence.
Thanks Scot and sometimes it feels like that!
My favorite owl! 😍
They are such a treat to see perched like that napping and enjoying the day. :)

Agreed James.
who who was that hiding. Wonderful viewing. adding to your owl love
Thanks Nettie - their hiding spots and camouflage is amazing. I wonder how many times I've passed by them without seeing them.

Oh, to be nestled amongst a family of trees :-) Lovely!
Thanks Joni B - they definitely look cozy!
Cute, little owl looks like it had a nap in this moment.
Thanks Agnes and agreed - they were napping most comfortably. :)
Fantastic, Neil! I really like the patience that it took over a year to see this screech owl. Well worth the wait.

They blend in so well, but hopefully you'll see them again before another year goes by.
I feel like we're walking in parallel lines! Love this.
Thanks Ann and fully agree!
I always wonder how many owls I’m totally oblivious to as I hike. Beautiful post, Neil!
