I took these photos and videos on September 29, 2024. I was hiking in the morning and saw these White-tailed Deer. I had just turned a corner on the trail and froze. I slowly backed up behind these trees. I did not want to scare the deer away.

I have seen deer in the park several times over the years. This park is not far from the edge of Ottawa and is connected by green spaces. These green spaces are like wildlife highways and make for some surprise encounters.

I never get tired of seeing deer in this park and I am always grateful for the experience.

I thought about following the deer to get some more images. Instead, I decided not to follow and was grateful for the encounter. I wished them a safe and peaceful day.
