Lovely photos and calming videos, Neil. Few nature encounters feel as special as looking at a deer as the animal returns your gaze. You capture it wonderfully.
I'm noticing an increasing depth in your poetry Neil. I've always enjoyed it since I started reading, but lately the third line has been striking a really deep chord
Thank you, Neil. A wonderful encounter with this beautiful pair who seem to recognize you and greet you, their own poet photographer. The identifying marking on the individual deer is a great pointer for us as viewers through your images. Btw, I was in the downtown of my small city by the Willamette River today, on a busy street corner and over head was a mature Bald Eagle circling. It was magical. I feel like it’s a gift when wildlife observes us.
Thanks Heidi and happy to share. That sounds like an awesome experience seeing that Bald Eagle flying as well. I am always impressed by the size of Bald Eagles and they're definitely magical and a treat to see in flight.
That gorgeous close-up! Those ears... those eyes... that nose. She is beautiful. I am in love. Thank you :-)
Thanks Joni and much appreciated. Happy to share. :)
I am reminded of Mary Oliver's wonderful poem about her encounter with two deer - Five a.m. in the Pine Woods. https://www.poeticous.com/mary-oliver/five-a-m-in-the-pinewoods
Thanks for sharing a most fitting poem, Joni! I had never read that before.

Thanks James and much appreciated. Really fortunate timing with this encounter.
Just the thing to start the day after a troubled night.
Thanks Michael.

Thank you Emma and very much appreciated. I am really learning a lot through the writing process and connecting with Nature.
Thank you Neil! I needed this today. Makes me want to get in the car and drive to Eastport, where they roam the streets.
You're welcome Pamela and happy to share! Those connections with Nature are such a treat and gift I never take for granted.
Great poem and videos, Neil!
Thanks Wei Tam and much appreciated!

So elusive, for good reasons, but very gripping to look at when they show themselves.
Agreed, David. I was pleasantly surprised they remained so long.
Beautiful deer! It's lovely to watch them in the videos.
Thanks Juliet. I was surprised to see them approach!
